HRT Mobile Welding, a C-60 licensed welding contractor based in Livermore, California, has published a dedicated online resource explaining how on-site welding work gets permitted and inspected for industrial clients across Oakland, the Oakland estuary and the Port of Oakland. The guide addresses the permitting and inspection steps that commercial and industrial operators face before scheduling welding work in the area.

HRT Mobile Welding provides on-site mobile welding and structural welding for commercial and industrial clients in Oakland, Hayward, Alameda and across the East Bay. The new resource outlines two practical requirements that affect scheduling. On-site welding, cutting and torch work in Oakland falls under an Oakland Fire Department hot work operational permit, and many established industrial facilities already hold a current permit. The resource notes that the question before scheduling is whether an existing permit covers the specific area being worked. The guide also explains that Oakland lists welding among the special inspections that require the inspector to be present for the work, and that off-site fabrication, including shop welding, does not remove the special inspection requirement.

The resource from HRT Mobile Welding on-site welding in Oakland information consolidates these permitting and inspection details for operators planning industrial projects in the area. Founded by owner Kyle Shannon, the company runs two fully equipped mobile welding rigs out of its Livermore shop, about 30 miles east of Oakland on the I-580 corridor. Components are fabricated on the bench in Livermore, and the rigs then handle fit-up and installation at the customer location. Six trades run under one C-60 license: heavy equipment welding, welding repair, structural steel fabrication, metal fabrication, stainless steel pipe welding and maritime structural welding. The company maintains around-the-clock readiness and handles emergency repairs.

"Running six trades under one C-60 license means a single crew can move from heavy equipment welding to stainless steel pipe welding to maritime structural welding on the same project," said Kyle Shannon, Owner of HRT Mobile Welding. "The reason we put the Oakland permitting information in one place is that most of the delay on industrial jobs comes from the paperwork, not the metal."

The company serves construction and general contractors, industrial equipment rental fleets, maritime and port facilities, project managers and engineers, and mechanical contractors throughout Oakland, Alameda, Hayward, Union City, Fremont, Newark and Livermore. Port of Oakland work is part of the company project history.

"Our welders are AWS certified welding specialists, and we stay ready for emergency repairs because industrial equipment does not wait for business hours," Shannon said.
