Cyprus Plastic Surgeon Offers Breast Augmentation To Local Patients & Beyond

The European Institute of Plastic Surgery based in Nicosia, Cyprus, is pleased to inform their community that their team is providing breast augmentation. Led by Dr. Demetris Stavrou, the team primarily offers this popular service in Cyprus, but patients can also request special accommodations to be made in Athens and Malta. Learn more about the clinic’s specialized services here: Breast Augmentation Cyprus.

Breast augmentation is one of most highly requested procedures the clinic provides, and they attribute this to the breast being an extremely recognisable aspect of femininity, both historically and in modern culture. The clinic believes that breasts of all sizes are beautiful, but women also have the right to ensure their bodies meet their own expectations and desires. As such, some may prefer to have larger or smaller breasts, or even change the shape of their breasts altogether. All of these procedures are available at the European Institute of Plastic Surgery, but breast augmentation deals specifically with enlarging the patient’s breasts — while taking their goals, desires, body shape, asymmetries and so on into account.

Dr Stavrou

According to Dr. Stavrou, breast augmentation can naturally improve both the size and shape of the breasts by making use of breast implants, a fat transfer or even a combination of both. The doctor applies his expertise and vast experience in the field when assessing each patient, so consultations may lead to him discussing what the patient is looking for and examining their body to determine the most appropriate implant type, size and technique. Each of these factors must come together perfectly in order to achieve a beautiful and natural result. Fortunately, patients are in good hands with Dr. Stavrou and his team; they have worked with countless women to achieve successful outcomes. Examples of his work can be seen on his official Facebook page.

A typical breast augmentation procedure involves four steps: anesthesia, incision, implant placement and closing the incision. In the first stage, a certified anesthesiologist will ensure the patient is put under general anesthesia. Following this, Dr. Stavrou will perform an incision in the infra-mammary fold, around the areola or inside the axilla. The incision site will be determined prior to surgery, and he always aims to select areas that will make the incision as inconspicuous as possible (to help ensure minimal scarring and disguise any remnant of the procedure). Dr. Stavrou explains that he selects a patient’s incision placement based on the patient’s anatomical makeup as well as the size and type of implant being used. Patients will also be pleased to learn that he works exclusively with cutting-edge implants of superior quality, guaranteeing safety, durability and longevity.

Some may believe that it is impossible to breastfeed or nurse following breast augmentation surgery. For the most part, this is not true, though some patients will want to confirm this with their surgeon if required (Dr. Stavrou makes it a point to confirm the patient’s needs during the consultation phase). In general, however, he takes every precaution to respect the breasts’ natural physiology and allow them to retain their natural function following breast augmentation surgery.

In the final step, Dr. Stavrou closes the incision in layers to minimize scarring. While he employs every surgical technique available to accomplish this, he may also instruct patients on aftercare they can handle by themselves. This may include gently massaging the area around the incision, keeping the incision away from direct sunlight, staying hydrated, avoiding activities that may place stress on the incision and so on.

Patients will generally be able to walk around mere hours after surgery, though it is highly recommended that they rest if possible. In the first 48 hours following the procedure, they may experience an elevated body temperature, fatigue, soreness and even swelling in their breasts, along with soreness as the skin learns to accommodate the new breast size. This is expected, so patients need not be too concerned. The surgical center will also provide the patient with a medical compression bra and chest band, designed to limit movement and protect the healing tissue from undue trauma.

Dr. Stavrou and his team warmly invite their community to reach out if they have any other questions. The European Institute of Plastic Surgery looks forward to helping women achieve their ideal body shape. As always, the center can be reached through their social media platforms, such as Facebook and Instagram.
