AirVūz Announces 2022 Drone Video of the Year
Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States - 02-03-2023 (PR Distribution™) -
AirVūz, the premier video sharing platform for drone content creators, is excited to announce “Flying above Faroe Islands” by AirVūz content creator Laurent of Drone My Life as the winner of the 2022 Drone Video of the Year contest!
AirVūz hosts this yearly contest to celebrate the best in drone cinematography. The nominated films were selected from the content uploaded to its video sharing platform, AirVuz.com. This year’s twenty nominees consisted of the twelve winners of the AirVūz Drone Video of the Month contests in 2022, as well as eight ‘wild card’ nominees that were selected by the team at AirVūz from videos uploaded to the site between January 1, 2022 - December 31, 2022.
The winning video is a showreel from France-based drone pilot, Laurent Philip’s, trip to the Faroe Islands. Beautifully edited, the video combines footage from a DJI Mavic 3 Cine drone as well as first-person view (FPV) drone footage. Some of the featured locations include the Múlafossur waterfall, which drops straight into the sea, and the needle-like Trøllkonufingur rock pillar.
“I am so surprised and proud to have won the award for best video of the year! This video is 12 days in the heart of the Faroe Islands with my videographer friends. The conditions to fly a drone are very difficult but the landscape is amazing!” said Philip about the win. He goes on to say, “I thank my community who always supported me in my projects, I thank all those who voted for my video and I thank, of course, AirVūz to organize such events. Thanks to this victory, I will be able to share great adventures in 2023!”
Philip has been an active, contributing member of the AirVūz community for over three years, sharing an impressive portfolio of drone videos showcasing the Dolomites, the south of France, Corsica, Switzerland, drift car racing, Iceland, Portugal, and now most notably, the Faroe Islands.
For winning the 2022 AirVūz Drone Video of the Year contest, Laurent Philip of Drone My Life will be awarded a $5000 USD cash prize.
“AirVūz is proud to extend this award as a fantastic culmination of a year’s worth of contests and promotion, and we are thrilled to see ‘Flying Above Faroe Islands’ by Drone My Life voted to these top honors,” said Mike Israel, founder and CEO of AirVūz. “Our community of drone pilots continues to create the very best in cinematic drone content; we are honored to have it shared on our AirVūz and DroneTV platforms for the world to enjoy.”
All videos uploaded by the community of AirVūz registered content creators from January 1, 2022 through December 31, 2022 were eligible for consideration for the 2022 Drone Video of the Year contest. All registered members of the AirVūz community were eligible to vote to pick the winning video. For more information on the contest, please visit https://www.airvuz.com/drone-video-of-the-year.
