REDMOND, Wash., Oct. 29, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Rocketdyne, the newly independent space technology company, has received a contract from Lockheed Martin to supply in-space propulsion for NOAA’s next generation of geostationary weather satellites.

Rocketdyne will supply propulsion systems for Geostationary Extended Observations (GeoXO) satellites. Each GeoXO satellite will have 28 thrusters that will allow operators to control and maneuver the spacecraft, including monopropellant thrusters and electric propulsion systems.

“This contract continues our longstanding reputation as a trusted supplier of in-space propulsion systems,” said Rocketdyne Chief Executive Officer Kristin Houston. “We have delivered more than 22,000 thrusters of different types for weather, exploration and other satellite programs.”
