Ali A. Gonzalez selected as Top Food Service Strategist of the Year by IAOTP

Ali Gonzalez, a seasoned Corporate Restaurant & Foodservice Strategist, has been honored as the Top Food Service Strategist of the Year by the International Association of Top Professionals (IAOTP). With an extensive background spanning over three decades in the food service industry, Gonzalez has demonstrated excellence in diverse culinary creations, cost-effective facility design, exemplary financial practices, and strategic planning for startups and turnaround operations.

Gonzalez's culinary journey began in 1990 when he attended the San Francisco California Culinary Academy's professional chef program while concurrently working at a Swedish bakery. At the age of 22, he secured his first Executive Chef position at Memphis Minnies, a cajun creole style restaurant in San Francisco, a cooking style that would define his career.

Over the years, Gonzalez has contributed his expertise to renowned establishments such as Hyatt Regency, Sheraton Hotels, Bon Appétit, ABC studios, and Paramount studios. His experience in corporate dining has equipped him with valuable insights into leadership, management, and operational efficiency. Notably, Gonzalez has successfully delivered catering services for a variety of events, including a remarkable event with a budget exceeding $150k for 800 people at Ford’s Premier Automotive line.

Gonzalez is not only a skilled practitioner but also a passionate advocate for sustainable food service practices. He has authored a book titled "The Sustainable Restaurant Plan," guiding food service managers on implementing sustainable practices without compromising quality, freshness, or profits.

Acknowledging his contributions, Mr. Gonzalez received the "The 10 Most Influential Leaders in the Food Industry" award in 2023 and is now set to be featured in TIP (Top Industry Professionals) Magazine. IAOTP's recognition adds another prestigious accolade to his list of achievements.

The President of IAOTP, Stephanie Cirami, praised Mr. Gonzalez was an inspirational and influential thought leader, expressing excitement about celebrating his accomplishments at the annual awards gala in December at Gaylord Opryland Resort in Nashville.

Reflecting on his success, Gonzalez attributes it to his passion, strong work ethic, and the guidance of mentors. Outside of work, he cherishes spending time with his family and aspires to inspire and influence aspiring professionals entering the food service field.
