All Aboard for a Unique Getaway in a Restored Train Car Nestled in the Rolling Hills of the Palouse and the Pristine Forests of Idaho
Idaho Train Stays is the perfect Pacific Northwest escape for travelers who love trains, history, and nature. Experience a unique vacation in a restored combination train car or the Depot and caboose in downtown Deary, Idaho. Each Airbnb location has various amenities to make the customer’s stay memorable and fun.
Car 306 began its service in 1909, carrying passengers, freight, and mail on its daily route from Palouse, Washington, to Bovill, Idaho. After going into retirement, Car 306 was rediscovered in a local barn and lovingly restored. Interested visitors can watch the train car return to its former glory on Restoration Road with Clint Harp. Car 306's resurrection was the show's first episode.
After the restoration, Idaho Train Stays built a wraparound porch to protect Car 306 from the elements. The company also built an external sauna and hot tub that allow guests to take in the pristine natural backdrop without obstruction. The beautifully restored Car 306 has reached its final resting place on 145 acres of stunning landscape in the foothills of the Bitterroot Mountains.
The Airbnb listing accommodates two guests in the one-bedroom, one-bathroom train car. Many of the train's unique features have been preserved, making a visit to Car 306 an ideal getaway for any train lover. View the full list of amenities and book a trip with Idaho Train Stays.
The Deary Train Depot was built in 1904, and it once served as the only means of transportation into town besides horseback or walking. Located at the heart of this small mountain community, the Depot features beautifully restored wood floors, a state-of-the-art chef’s kitchen, and a luxurious bathroom. The Passenger Room can accommodate two guests, and the Stationmaster Room offers an additional king-size bed for more space.
The Great Northern Caboose is located next to the Depot, just up the street from the delightful features of downtown Deary, like The Pie Safe Bakery and Kitchen, Gathered in Deary or The Butcher Shop. The Caboose can sleep two and has a kitchenette, shower/tub, and queen-sized bed, along with the numerous restored features of the train car. Enjoy the historic train car in the cozy Idaho community of Deary, with delicious, home-cooked food mere steps away and stunning sights all around.
