Ubicept Showcases Physics-Based Imaging at CES 2026 to Usher in the Next Generation of Smart Perception for Robotics and Autonomous Vehicles

Following the launch of the Ubicept Toolkit, the computer vision startup demonstrates reductions in blur and noise on CMOS and SPAD sensors for clearer and more reliable imagery

Ubicept, the computer vision startup operating at the limits of physics, today announced live demonstrations of the Ubicept Toolkit at CES 2026. The Ubicept Toolkit uses a physics-based approach to dramatically reduce noise and blur in conventional CMOS sensors – the same sensors used across industrial cameras, autonomous vehicles, robotics, and AR/VR – and next-generation single-photon avalanche diode (SPAD) sensors. Demonstrations will take place at booth #11115 in LVCC, North Hall.

In addition, Ubicept will showcase its technology as part of the demo of Canon’s high frame rate 1MP SPAD sensor. This demonstration will highlight the advantages of Ubicept’s processing on Canon’s SPAD sensors in fast-motion and challenging lighting scenarios within the Canon Americas Lab booth, exhibited by Canon U.S.A.’s Business Innovation Group at booth #60509 in Eureka Park.

“We strive to work with camera manufacturers and robotics developers to achieve the next generation of smart perception,” said Sebastian Bauer, co-founder & CEO of Ubicept. “With our recently released Toolkit for CMOS cameras, customers have more options than ever to see how Ubicept’s technology can supercharge their perception systems in robotics, automotive, and industrial sensing.”

The Toolkit implements the Ubicept Photon Fusion (UPF) algorithm and Flexible Light Acquisition and Representation Engine (FLARE) firmware for optimized photon capture. Together, UPF and FLARE harness the nanosecond precision of SPAD sensors, accelerating sequential techniques for high dynamic range imaging and practically simultaneous exposures.
