ZEISS Vision Care Launches DuraVision® Gold UV AR, The New Gold Standard in Lens Coatings
ZEISS DuraVision Gold UV AR Combines Performance and Aesthetics for Enhanced Cleanability, Durability and Clarity
ZEISS Vision Care, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of eyeglass lenses and ophthalmic instruments, announced today the launch of ZEISS DuraVision Gold UV AR, the latest high-clarity, anti-reflective lens coating in the ZEISS DuraVision portfolio. With its striking gold residual reflectance, the new coating radiates luxury, elegance, and sophistication. Beyond its visual appeal, it offers a range of functional advantages: excellent durability, improved cleanability, reduced blue light reflections and enhanced clarity in low-light conditions. This coating seamlessly combines sleek aesthetics with premium performance for eyeglass wearers. ZEISS DuraVision Gold UV AR is now available to consumers through independent ZEISS eye care professionals nationwide.
Knowing clear vision is the top priority for most people who wear glasses, ZEISS specifically designed the ZEISS DuraVision Gold UV AR coating to make life easier, protecting against external factors that compromise clear vision, all while featuring a stylish gold hue for a timeless, sophisticated appearance.
Key features include:
- Faster cleaning technology. With ZEISS DuraVision Gold UV AR, ZEISS has introduced an advanced technology to better repel oil and water: ZEISS CleanGuardTM. Compared to previous coatings, ZEISS CleanGuard makes lenses up to three times faster to clean. In fact, 90% of consumers find ZEISS lenses with CleanGuard technology easier and quicker to clean than the company's previous premium coatings*.
- Excellent durability and scratch resistance. The ZEISS DuraVision Gold UV AR lenses offer enhanced durability, staying scratch-free for longer, with an impressive score of 16 on the Bayer industry standard test for scratch resistance**.
- Enhanced lens clarity day and night, and decreased lens yellowness. By reducing reflections on the lens surface, ZEISS DuraVision Gold UV AR offers clearer vision – especially in low-light conditions. It also reduced blue light reflections by up to six times, resulting in lenses that appear color-neutral and free from yellowness***. This effect is particularly noticeable when viewing a white wall or bright monitor screens.
“With the introduction of our ZEISS DuraVision Gold UV AR coating, we’re offering an industry-leading solution that caters to consumers' needs for clear, hassle-free vision, enhanced by a subtle gold hue for a refined, elevated look and style,” said Jens Boy, president of ZEISS Vision Care North America. “For our eye care professionals, this means new opportunities to provide consumers with the highest quality, personalized lenses.”
ZEISS DuraVision Gold UV AR is available on all lenses that offer ZEISS DuraVision Platinum UV, including single vision, office, digital, bifocal, and progressive lenses. The coating can also be combined with prescription sunglasses tints and polarized lenses.
