Earth Engineers Joins RMA Companies

RMA Companies (“RMA”) today announced the acquisition of Earth Engineers, a firm specializing in geotechnical engineering, construction materials testing, and special inspection services. Based in Camas, WA, with additional offices in Springfield, OR, and Aiea, HI, Earth Engineers broadens RMA’s footprint in the Pacific Northwest and adds additional expertise in engineering and materials testing, supporting RMA’s strategy to build a national platform for technology-driven testing, inspection, and certification services.

Earth Engineers is RMA’s second acquisition in the Portland market following Northwest Geotech, solidifying RMA’s reputation as a trusted geotechnical and TICC partner in the region. RMA now has a comprehensive network of six professional offices and laboratories in the Pacific Northwest, spanning from Bellingham, WA near the Canadian border through Seattle, Tacoma, and Vancouver, to Portland and Eugene in central Oregon. The combined resources of these offices have capabilities for the design, development, and maintenance of a wide range of infrastructure projects including airfield pavements, port facilities, utilities, dams, levees, and transportation networks, in addition to serving public agencies investing in the built environment throughout the Pacific Northwest and Hawaii.

“This is an exciting period for RMA and our new colleagues at Earth Engineers,” stated Ed Lyon, CEO of RMA. “Our organizations have aligned business values, including a shared commitment to technical excellence and client service. Earth Engineers enhances RMA’s strategic and geographic positioning, fortifying our service offerings to better serve our existing and prospective clients with efficient and comprehensive solutions. Our collective expertise in earth and materials sciences is instrumental in ensuring the integrity of critical infrastructure assets and the built environment.”

“We are thrilled to join the RMA family of companies,” said Troy Hull, former Earth Engineers President. “Earth Engineers is committed to maintaining the high-quality services our clients expect. This new phase of growth will broaden our service offerings, enhance our capacity for work, and extend our geographic reach. It is an important milestone for our organization and our current and prospective clients.”

Womble Bond Dickinson, LLP acted as legal adviser to RMA. Tonkon Torp, LLP served as legal advisors to Earth Engineers.
