Annual event fosters diverse perspectives, recognizes accomplishments, and helps prepare students for professional conference circuit
University of Phoenix College of Doctoral Studies welcomed more than 1,000 attendees during its 2024 Knowledge Without Boundaries Summit, held October 17-19, 2024. The virtual research event, titled “Rise of the Scholar-Practitioner,” served as a dynamic forum for research, while also exploring the innovative possibilities for advancing the value prospects amongst industry practices, scholar-practitioner engagement, and ever-evolving research concerning pivotal societal issues.
“It’s exciting to see the growth in attendance and interest of the Knowledge Without Boundaries Summit, and its opportunity for engagement, connection, and professional growth and networking, both for our doctoral students as well as other University community members,” states Hinrich Eylers, Ph.D., P.E., vice provost, College of Doctoral Studies. “In addition to celebrating doctoral students’ and scholars’ successes with the Dissertation of the Year and DEIB research awards, our students presentations demonstrate the depth and excellence of their contributions, and support their skills development in preparation for the professional conference circuit.”
The Summit is an effort of the Research and Scholarship Enterprise (RSE) and the College of Doctoral Studies to enlighten communities through the efforts of a research perspective that amplifies practice-based potential in applying theory to real-time issues.
This year’s event featured:
- Keynote speaker, Janice Cardwell, Ph.D., CEO of Conceivers Leadership and Learning Group, sharing her knowledge as a coach, consultant, trainer, and Chair of the Board of the National Entrepreneur Association.
- Comments by Chris Lynne, president, University of Phoenix, and the presentation of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB) Focused Research Award, recognizing DEIB research from University of Phoenix scholars, alongside moderator Kimberly Underwood, Ph.D., chair, Center for Workplace Diversity and Inclusion Research (CWDIR).

Summit attendees and participants found the experience valuable. “I received insightful feedback from other scholars/practitioners who participated in the same sessions that I presented in,” shared Suchitra Veera, DBA, MBA, fellow, CEITR, and faculty, College of Business and Information Technology.
“The Summit was an inspiring and impactful experience for my team and me.
