Insurity Sponsors the Greater Hartford Arts Council’s Annual Fundraiser to Support the Local Arts Community
Proceeds from the virtual Art Social fundraising event are directed to supporting local artists, museums, theaters, and other performance venues as they recover from the pandemic
Insurity, a leading provider of cloud-based software for property and casualty (P&C) carriers, brokers, and MGAs today announced that it will be a Community Supporter Sponsor for Greater Hartford’s Arts Council annual fundraiser, Art Social, on Thursday, October 28, 2021. The proceeds from the virtual fundraising event help the Arts Council support more than 150 local organizations and artists in the Hartford region, including museums, theaters, culture centers, and other performance venues.
Specifically, the arts represent 3.5% of Connecticut’s economy, supporting almost 60,000 jobs and generating $9 billion annually. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many local artists and venues were forced to close their doors and lose their revenue streams. As a leading business headquartered in Hartford, Insurity understands the impact the arts have not just on the community, but their contribution to a healthy economy. Insurity is committed to coming together with other local organizations to ensure artists and venues can continue to thrive in the coming years.
The Greater Hartford Arts Council’s Art Social showcases how the arts are making an impact within the Hartford community, highlighting talented and up-and-coming artists and organizations. The virtual fundraising event plans to honor individuals who are making a difference with an Arts Inspiration Award. This year, the award will recognize the outstanding contributions of those who went above and beyond to support the arts and cultural sector in its most challenging year to date.
“We are so appreciative of Insurity and their continued support of the arts and culture community here in Hartford,” said Kate McOmber, interim Chief Executive Officer, Greater Hartford Arts Council. “Our mission is to be a catalyst for the arts and promote an equitable arts ecosystem in Greater Hartford. The arts are vital to our community and to our own well-being, as they help us build resilience and provide solitude and comfort. All proceeds from the Art Social will help us support a sector still very much in recovery from the effects of the pandemic.”
“Insurity is thrilled to continue its support of the Greater Hartford Arts Council and the community’s theaters, museums, dance programs, artists, and more,” said Ken Safft, Chief Human Resources Officer at Insurity and former board member of the Greater Hartford Arts Council. “Insurity understands the importance of fostering creativity at the local level and is pleased we can provide funding and support to artists and organizations across the region.”
