An Apocalyptic Year by Greg Vannatta
To reap the benefits of a culture and community in unity, every individual must put in the hard work, prune the wickedness, and look at what benefits culture, society, and culture as a whole.
The current state of international wars continues to hold the thoughts of individuals worldwide, leaving a debilitating advancement of peace in the hearts of many.

The intensity of the world in its current affairs—politically, financially, spiritually, and emotionally—has every heart and mind on edge; unknown is what will come next as the pain and suffering of life continue to take effect across the world. The current state of international wars continues to hold the thoughts of individuals worldwide, leaving a debilitating advancement of peace in the hearts of many.

With the emotional and spiritual scars deep in the innermost of the heart, one must wonder if there is any hope for the future of the World. Is it possible to have peace in the heart and mind during these troubling times?

The answer is yes. It is possible to maintain peace in the heart and mind during troubling times of challenge and hardship. The issue is whether there is enough discipline to apply a biblical principle to continue walking with peace of mind and heart amid such times

With so much deception and manipulation that continue to drive the motives of hardship in the World today, it seems necessary to look to one source emphasizing discipleship that involves community and culture. The need for a united fellowship of community and culture is at an all-time high.

Community and culture continue to guide and direct individuals to keep the eyes of the heart and the mind looking up to something much more significant than what the World continues to offer. This means there is still hope available to everyone who will remove the blindfolds from their eyes and pursue a life of light, rather than one of debilitating darkness.

With community comes the need for personal, spiritual, emotional, and physical discipline to continue to work on the mission and vision of advancing something much bigger than what the world can offer. In the daily living within the modern world, this is undoubtedly a challenging task, especially when it comes to the readily available convenience that is offered.

There is a need in our modern times to set aside the quickness of convenience while looking at the value of doing hard work and having discipline, which will have a long-lasting effect on society and culture. The need for this long-term effect in modern society and culture is what could be considered an epidemic among people living hopeless or faithless lives today.

At its foundation, the need for hope, value, and being part of something much bigger than ourselves has something much more significant than what the human eye can see or the mind can comprehend. The unity of community and culture allows individuals to live a life on earth while seeing beyond what meets the eye.

In this Apocalyptic year, it is now considered a new normality to take the easy way out, or to allow others to do the hard work, while some take all the benefits of the hard work of others. To reap the benefits of a culture and community in unity, every individual must put in the hard work, prune the wickedness, and look at what benefits culture, society, and culture as a whole.

Through culture and community, a transformation of the human heart and mind that many can witness to promote peace is then of much more value . One must always appreciate the depth of challenge, hardship, or pain from community and culture in unity, as this requires a complete change of mind and a transformation of the heart to make it work.

As the international issue of war competes against the physical realm in ways that devastate every individual, knowing of the casualties that come with war, the spiritual realm also has implications of war. A war wages daily in all human beings' hearts that can cause chaos and destruction or healing and peace.

With the current state of wars in the world, it is hard not to see how despair has overtaken the hearts of many, not knowing where they can find hope or peace, being that the world looks like a dark veil over the flame of a candle. But the truth is, there are much more grace and unconditional love on earth than what are seen, being that it is an instinct to look toward darkness, rather than put in the hard work and effort to see the light.

A true statement is that we must see the emptiness in all things before we can see the fullness in Christ and what He offers to those who follow Him in obedience, no matter what may come their way. The discipline of discipleship allows any individual to do just this: See the fullness and goodness of Jesus Christ in all things, knowing that no matter what happens on this earth, He will come again.

That’s the heart behind Greg Vannatta ’s latest book, Developing a Disciple: Conditioning a Disciple, Book 2. It’s a raw, insightful, and encouraging look at the journey of discipleship during some of the most trying times in modern history.
