Color Vision Holds Their Inaugural Creators Luncheon In Washington D.C.

Black women empowerment initiative, Color Vision, attracts big names to their inaugural luncheon held at La Vie in Washington D.C.

Color Vision reiterated their commitment to advancing the next generation of creative women of color following the success recorded at the recently held inaugural creators luncheon. The event was held on June 11, 2022, hosted by Courtney Connley, Senior Editor at The Chief, at La Vie in Washington D.C., with over 50 guests in attendance to celebrate Pop’N Creative Founder Lori Hall, Favored by Yodit Founder Yodit Gebreyes Endale, Unilever’s Erin Goldson and K. Stewart Beauty and Wellness Founder Keiarna Stewart.

"The powerful influence we see from Black culture and Black creativity helped to shape and lead art and design, music, fashion, beauty, television, marketing, events and so much more on a global scale. Oftentimes the majority of our Black colleagues go with little to no acknowledgement and accolades for their contributions in their respective fields. This is why Color Vision’s inaugural Creators Luncheon is so important. The social injustice we’ve all experienced on a high level these last few years reminds us to reimagine what’s possible within our own community, to celebrate each other and find our way forward together!"

The global creative industry has become involved over the years, as more individuals emerge to deliver captivating content to their audience. Women have undoubtedly played a major role in the evolution of the industry. However, women of color have not particularly received the accolades they deserve for their works, which is where Color Vision aims to make a difference while inspiring young and talented women to showcase their craft.

The luncheon was organized to honor four extraordinary women who are all trailblazers in their industries and in extension inspire as many women of color as possible to push boundaries, irrespective of the challenges. Creators Luncheon featured inspiring speeches by Capital One’s Elesha Belke & Fenton’s Shakirah Hill Taylor with captivating musical performances by saxophonist Lionel Lyles and D.J. Keebee. The event was sponsored by Ketel One, Ketel One Botanicals and Capital One, with attendees going home with featured goodies from Color Vision, Ketel One, Fancy Free Hair & Skin, Philip Ashley and Namesake skincare.
