International Christian development organization given grant to further women's empowerment in Egypt

FAIRFAX, VA, January 06, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Coptic Orphans is proud to announce its partnership with FedEx Cares to further women's empowerment in Egypt through a generous grant.

This grant is allocated to the Valuable Girl Project, a mentorship program that pairs up girls and young women in Egypt as a way to improve academic performance and encourage collaboration among underserved populations in rural villages.

"We're pleased to partner with FedEx Cares in the pursuit of women's empowerment in Egypt," says Nermien Riad, Coptic Orphans' Founder and Executive Director. "This generous grant will allow us to expand the Valuable Girl Project's reach in rural areas and allow for more girls and young women to truly understand the power of their own education."

Activities covered by the grant include training guides, workshops on proposal writing for community development associations, community initiatives, and COVID-19 essentials and hygiene kits.

The Valuable Girl Project has impacted over 15,000 girls and young women in 184 project sites across Egypt during the past 20 years of its operation.
