Item 1.01 Entry into a Material Definitive Agreement.

On August 20, 2009, Alaska Communications Systems Group, Inc. (the "Company") announced that it had entered into a tentative three-year agreement with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local Union 1547 ("IBEW"), which represents all of the Company's unionized employees. To become effective, the tentative agreement must be ratified by a vote of the Company's 700 represented employees. If ratified, the new three-year term would commence on January 1, 2010.





Item 7.01 Regulation FD Disclosure.

The Company issued a press release announcing its entry into the tentative agreement with the IBEW described in Item 1.01 of this report. The press release is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1 and incorporated into this Item 7.01 by reference.
