ITEM 9. Tenet To Cooperate With Senate Finance Committee Request.
On September 5, 2003, Tenet Healthcare Corporation issued a press release stating that it received a letter today from Sen. Charles E. Grassley (R-Iowa), Chairman of the Senate Finance Committee, notifying the company that the committee has begun an investigation of Tenet’s “corporate governance practices with respect to federal health care programs.” A copy of the press release is attached to this report as Exhibit 99.1 and hereby is furnished.
